Cartoon Bodies
After a brief demonstration on cartoon proportions and drawing cartoon bodies, students are given 4 body "templates" made up of multiple shapes. Students are to use those templates to create 5 cartoon characters. Then they are to make up 5 of their own shape combinations and turn those into new characters of their own design.
Evaluation:
5 points -- Five expressive characters using given geometric constructions
The 5 original characters based on student geometric constructions are evaluated on the following:
2 points -- Originality/Creativity
2 points -- Poses express personality
1 point -- Neat Clean finished layout
Below is the evaluation form with the given geometric constructions and a few example characters made from the given constructions. (See if you can figure out which geometric construction was used for each character!)
