Contour Wire
After a lesson in Gesture and contour line drawing students may use contour line drawing to produce a small face or figure. They may also choose to find a picture on the internet that they can then trace the contours.
Students use the contour line drawing they produced as a guide for placement of their wire. They produce a wire contour line sculpture which is mounted an inch or so away from a black piece of cardboard. They may add additional three dimensionality by pushing and pulling wire parts to make them stick out further in some places.
Evaluation:
3 points -- Richness of detail (not just outlines, but also inner details too.)
3 points -- Sturdiness
4 points -- Use of time
10 points total.
