Instructions for using a grid to duplicate a drawing
- 1. Evenly divide small image with grid lines. (Half-inch or quarter-ingh squares work well depending on the size of the original image)
- 2. Count how many spaces you have across both edges (A)
- 3. Measure the edge of the large paper that you want to grid out (B)
- 4. Take the larger paper measurement (B) and divide the number of squares from Step 2 (A) which equals the size of the large paper grid squares. ( B ÷ A = Size of Large grid squares)
- 5. Grid out the large paper LIGHTLY by making even marks across all sides of the paper and lining up the ruler on those marks so you don't get crooked or angled lines.
- 6. Look for where the image edges cross the lines of the grid. Mark those intersections on the large grid paper and connect lines from each mark so that the lines look similar in curve/angle to the original. by focusing on small sections such as each square of the grid, anyone can duplicate a drawing fairly successfully.
