Paper Tower
A discussion about tall buildings, foundations and how engineers produce tall structures takes place before students get materials for this on-day project.
Students are given one sheet of paper and a small strip of tape. They are to make the tallest tower possible with the given materials. Their grade will be determined by the height of the structure created.
There are a few rules... The tower must be standing at the time of measurement. They can't hang it from the ceiling or support it with another object. The tower base can be taped to the table.
